متن کاملApplications of Sturm Sequences to Bifurcation Analysis of Delay Differential Equation Models
This paper formalizes a method used by several others in the analysis of biological models involving delay differential equations. In such a model, the characteristic equation about a steady state is transcendental. This paper shows that the analysis of the bifurcation due to the introduction of the delay term can be reduced to finding whether a related polynomial equation has simple positive r...
متن کاملNumerical approximation of the characteristic valuesfor a delay di erential
We present results on the approximation of the characteristic values of a delay diierential equation through the calculation of characteristic values of a corresponding discrete scheme constructed through the use of a strongly stable linear multistep method. Our tool in the analysis is the boundary locus method and we give a theorem that guarantees that the roots of the characteristic equation ...
متن کاملComparison of the hyperbolic range of two-fluid models on two-phase gas -liquid flows
In this paper, a numerical study is conducted in order to compare hyperbolic range of equations of isotherm two-fluid model governing on two-phase flow inside of pipe using conservative Shock capturing method. Differential equations of the two-fluid model are presented in two forms (i.e. form I and form II). In forms I and II, pressure correction terms are hydrodynamic and hydrostatic, respecti...
